Five For Fighting

Bertahun-tahun jadi penggemar musik, tapi tak satupun instrumen musik yang bisa dimainkan. Well, pemain musik itu ibarat kurav normal. Di ujung kiri itu orang yang ga suka musik dan ga bisa main musik, ditengah itu penikmat musik tapi ga bisa main musik. Dan yang paling sakti pasti yang ujung kanan, penikmat musik, dan bisa main musik. Sayang sekali mendapati diri sama sekali tak berbakat bermain musik, selain kletukan (memukul-mukul suatu permukaan layaknya musik acapella).

 

Bertahun-tahun juga jadi penikmat musik, akhirnya punya juga satu pemain musik yang jadi favorit. Nama panggungnya Five For Fighting, nama aslinya John Ondrasik. Kalau teman pembaca pernah dengar lagu Superman (It's not easy) ataupun 100 Years, inilah penyanyinya. John adalah pemain piano-rock, namun sering juga musiknya pop, jazzy, dan terkadang beat-breaking. Jika ada yang mengira FFF adalah band, maka perkiraan tersebut salah. John bermain secara solo. Sama seperti Glenn Fredly, ataupun Stevie Wonder.

Salah satu lagu yang wajib teman-teman cicipi di kuping adalah Chances. Berikut liriknya:

Ide Bisnis : Pembatas Buku

Kadang kita membatasi diri kita dengan terlalu banyak kekhawatiran akan kegagalan. Berakibat pada tindakan yang tertunda. Hingga yang tersisa hanyalah penyesalan. Seperti halnya argumentasi tentang pembatas buku berikut ini:

1. Jaman ini siapa si yang masih menggunakan pembatas buku? Bisa kok dengan pakai pensil, pulpen, kertas lain, atau bisa juga dilipat halamannya.
2. Atau emang masi jaman ya buku? Bukannya sekarang jamannya Ebook?
3. dll.

well, bagi beberapa orang yang menghargai buku, mereka pasti tau makna penting dari buku itu. Kalau yang buku fotokopian si ga tau, tapi kalau yang buku asli seharga ratusan ribu rupiah, ehmmm pasti berasa. Begini, pembatas buku, buat saya adalah solusi sederhana dari semua maslah tentang mengingat halaman. Buku terjamin kualitasnya sampai lama tanpa harus khawatir ada bekas lipatan, atau bentuknya yang melengkung karena dilapisi pena.

Dengan buku yang fisiknya ada, kalian ga harus berhadapan dengan masalah listrik, virus komputer, batera low, atau install ulang. Ebook mungkin buku masa depan, tapi dia tak bisa jadi kenang-kenangan

Prambanan, Time Ark To the Past

It was February 26th, 2012. The first time I visited one of the greatest human masterpiece. Prambanan Temple. Don’t ask me for the history, I have already forgot about that. Located in Sleman, Jogjakarta, Prambanan is the 2nd biggest temple in Indonesia. The biggest one is Borobudur, located in Magelang, Central Java. With no big talk, please enjoy some photos I took while I was there. Some more will be uploaded next time, I haven’t transferred it from my friend’s cameras. Enjoy.

This photo is taken from the temple where Nandi (an animal statue, God transportation –written in the story). If you see a man captured in the photo, behind him was the top of another temple that fell to the ground and fenced by the Prambanan Tourism staff.

Some pieces from smaller temple outside of the main area. Some that has actually been replaced by the new stone after the repairing time, and some which cannot be repaired anymore.

Well, I was the only man when my entrepreneurship team visited Prambanan for business survey. This one taken from the left side of the main area, almost near the back side. That day was a very hot day, so we used umbrella, and cause I didn’t bring one, I rented one for Rp 5.000 til the end of the visitation.

Taken inside of Prambanan Prehistoric Museum. Many statues collected from the main area of the temple and govt. put it there. I put my concern about this. Think, what will happen to the statue made from stone, consumed by time, and challenged by sunlight and hard rain? It needs another place that can keep it from being rotten stone.

If you visit this temple, you will hear Gamelan sound all the time. This is where it comes from. Inside the Prehistoric Museum, there is a set of Javanese Gamelan, played by some old men and women. Yes Old Ones.

Written in the explanation, these are made from gold. I’m not sure. I believe these are just duplicates. KW.

Wisuda Meilina Nursandari

Tahun ini sudah masuk tahun ketiga semenjak saya dan teman-teman seangkatan lulus dari SMA Sugar Group. Semenjak itu, kami semua terpencar. Entah terpencar lokasi, maupun terpencar tujuan hidup. Tak apalah, perbedaan itu bumbu pemanis hidup. Ada yang melanjutkan kuliah, ada yang membantu keluarga dengan bekerja, ada juga yang sudah bertemu dengan jodohnya. Ada yang mau jadi bidan, ada yang mau jadi dokter, ada yang sudah jadi pengusaha. Tapi semua itu adalah pilihan dan tak ada yang pantas mendebat sebuah pilihan.

Hari itu Selasa, 21 Februari 2011, menjadi sebuah hari yang paling berarti buat teman satu angkatan saya, Meilina Nursandari. Ia kini telah resmi lulus dari Sekolah Vokasi Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis, Universitas Gadjah Mada. Membanggakan, bukan?

Tak banyak yang saya ingat tentang Meilina Nursandari, kecuali ia adalah staff SRC dengan jabatan yang mentereng, Religion Affair. Didapuk kekuasaan langsung oleh SRC untuk memimpin urusan Agama Islam bagi murid-murid muslim. Mulai dari Keputrian Jumat, hingga acara Malam Bina Iman dan Takwa. Masih juga teringat dulu dia pernah curhat sambil menangis soal kakak angkatan yang menolak ikut keputrian.. hahaha.. Lucu orangnya.

Mei yang agak koplak, tapi, penuh semangat. Selamat! Semoga hidupmu semakin bersinar Teman!
